A manifesto for the most refined eyewear, where exceptional materials meet artisanal savoir-faire and meticulous attention to detail. Rare frames, built to last and designed for those who recognise the value of authentic design, far removed from the logic of mass production and able to stand out with discretion.
For Matsuda, eyewear is synonymous with art, precision and Japanese craftsmanship.
Each frame is handcrafted in the renowned workshops of Sabae, Japan, through a process that can involve 13 artisans, require 71 hours of work and comprise more than 250 steps. Some designs are created through production processes that can take up to two years, reflecting numerous stages of creative research and technical innovation.
The brand uses premium materials such as titanium, stainless steel, sterling silver and solid 18k gold, transformed by master Japanese artisans into frames rich in detail. Japanese acetate, derived from organic cotton and left to mature for over three months, is sculpted and hand-finished to achieve deep colours, durability and a distinctive tactile quality. Every component, from the hinges to the temples, is carefully designed and finished with exceptional attention to detail. Lightweight and impact-resistant CR-39 lenses filter 100% of UVA and UVB rays and are treated with seven anti-reflective layers to provide clearer, more comfortable vision.
Founded in 1995, DITA interprets eyewear as an expression of precision, character and outstanding quality.
Each frame is created through an exceptionally meticulous production process: up to 8 months of craftsmanship, the contribution of 100 master artisans and more than 350 steps shape eyewear built with absolute precision. The brand combines traditional techniques with modern technologies, including advanced design solutions also used in the worlds of haute horlogerie and luxury automobiles.
The highest-grade beta titanium, lightweight, durable and extremely flexible, weighs approximately one third as much as steel, while Japanese acetate is slowly polished with hand-cut bamboo chips to achieve a deep, refined finish. Finished in Japan and repeatedly inspected by master artisans in every detail, from shape and fitting to the final finish, DITA frames express an idea of technical, sophisticated luxury built to last.
L.G.R is the story of the Gnecchi Ruscone family.
The story of L.G.R began with a journey to Asmara, Africa, where Luca Gnecchi Ruscone rediscovered several frames forgotten in the warehouse of Ottica Bini, the business founded by his grandfather Raffaello, who lived there between 1930 and 1970. That journey gave rise to a brand that combines the elegance of the Riviera with the timeless allure of Africa, celebrating an authentic and refined vision of eyewear, far removed from mass production.
Each frame is entirely handcrafted in Italy by skilled artisans through a process that can take between 8 and 14 weeks. Premium Italian acetates, derived from cotton cellulose and wood fibres, are cut, pantographed, shaped and finished using traditional methods. The tumbling process, which can last between 48 and 76 hours, removes every imperfection and prepares the surface for hand polishing. From inserting the metal core into the temples to hand stamping, an increasingly rare technique, every detail reflects the commitment to preserving time-honoured craftsmanship. Tempered mineral glass lenses complete frames designed to last, combining optical quality, durability and timeless style.
MYKITA was founded in Berlin in 2003 from an independent and experimental approach to eyewear.
The brand chose to develop its tools, processes and expertise in-house, creating an internal production model that still defines its identity today. Since 2014, every stage has taken place at MYKITA HAUS, in the heart of Berlin Kreuzberg: a space where product designers, engineers and artisans follow each product from the initial idea through to quality control.
Its “modern manufactory” combines specialised craftsmanship, advanced technologies and continuous research, shaping frames with a clean, functional and distinctive design. The construction itself becomes part of the aesthetic, as demonstrated by the iconic patented spiral hinge, originally developed as a technical solution and now a defining signature of the brand. Moving away from more traditional codes of luxury, MYKITA focuses its value on materials, innovation and construction precision. Stainless steel with 95% recycled content, Acetate Renew and MYLON®, a proprietary material produced using 3D printing, express a contemporary, essential vision of eyewear designed to last.
